Today

This is exam week at school. I have nothing to do, because I don't give exams (the tests are actually made by the government, so every freshman student takes the same tests in every school throughout the country). But I have to be here to put in my time I guess. Anyway, I'm okay with it. I've been getting gifts all morning - the principal gave me a bunch of socks that say "Savers" on them (I think Savers is a girls basketball team), an Adidas windbreaker (matching pants and jacket), some more tennis apparel and another teacher gave me a Western-style ping pong paddle.

Also, the vice-principal is giving me a bike. He chain-smokes and he has a cigarette lighter that is pure gold. It even says "gold" on it. Friday night he made me eat a live shrimp.
