Buddha

Sunday I walked up a mountain in Cheonan and found some Buddhas.

This temple was constructed during the Goryeo dynasty, sometime around the 10th century. The Goryeo fucking loved Buddhism. The kings would send monks out all over the country to build these temples. Where this one was built, a monk claimed to have seen three white cranes carving the image of the Buddha into the rock wall, but that they flew away when he approached them. The carvings are still here, but I couldn't find them. Also, "Goryeo" is where we derive the English word "Korea".
